Adopt A Classroom Project Initiative Becomes A Reality
Students and teachers, in addition to attracting and retaining them; renovated classrooms support and enhance teaching and learning activities. This is the wind beneath the wings of the batches and individuals of GHS Mamfe students in kickstarting and successfully completing several of the many phases of the “Adopt a Classroom Program Initiative”. It all began with a kickstart of the 7th batch. Now, the domino effect rolls on.
From 1 A, shown in the video above is a sample of the state of the learning environment in GHS Mamfe today. This is not the experience of the 7th Batch of GHS Mamfe students in their secondary school days. Things have deteriorated over the years.
At a cost of $700 (USD), the entire Form 1A has seen a facelift. This project is in alignment with MAGGSOSA Alumni Fund’s mission slogan of Building Our Visions. Expressing profound gratitude to the 7th Batchers, Dr. Obi-Tabot – MAF Chair – said, “We have an opportunity as a family and community to invest in the future of our young, and to people provide a safe and welcoming environment for our students”.

The ‘Adopt a Classroom’ project initiative became a reality on the morning of January 4, 2022 at GHS Mamfe. Thanks to the 7th batch of Students in collaboration with the Alumni office on campus. Form One A classroom has a new facelift which includes a fresh coat of paint, in and out, repaired ceilings, and a metal door. Its keys were handed over to the principal shortly before classes started on Monday morning. Below are videos before and after the renovation exercises of the various batches.
Thanks as always for your commitment to your alma mater and the sacrifice you make. The lively discussions, financial contributions your precious time, etc. All for your alma mater. It is not very common for a public School alumni to form such a formidable organization but you have done your part to make this possible. Among many projects carried out by the alumni, the 7 batches decided to repair one of the many dilapidated classrooms and others are following a good example.
